Former Celtic manager Ronny Deila has sealed a return to management after being announced as Al Wahda manager. The 48-year-old was a guest at the club’s POTY awards earlier this year but will be back in the dugout after joining the Abu Dhabi side.

Deila joined Celtic in 2014 as a surprise appointment from Stromsgodset.Ronny won 2 titles and 1 league cup in his time in Glasgow and played a role in the side’s push towards 9IAR. It is right that the role that he played in developing the club is widely recognised. He was put in an impossible position whereby he was only given some tools to do the job with decisions being taken from above with regards to transfers etc.

Deila lifted the MLS Cup with New York City and was praised for his success in ‘The Big Apple’ for the City Football Group outfit. A return to Europe with Standard Liege lasted a year before jumping ship to their Belgian rivals, Club Brugge.

According to The Sun, Deila is set to link up with former Celtic and Rangers striker Kenny Miller. The former Scotland Internationalist recently worked as Assistant Manager at Huddersfield but has been working as a pundit.
