Roma remain interested in a deal with Inter for Italy international Davide Frattesi, who is increasingly likely to leave after being left on the substitutes’ bench for the entirety of Saturday’s 5-0 loss against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final.
Frattesi, who was born in the Italian capital and spent three years in Roma’s academy, has been linked with a move away from Inter this summer, with recent reports claiming that he will ‘100% leave’ if Simone Inzaghi remains in charge.
The 25-year-old has largely had to settle for a role as an understudy since joining the Nerazzurri from Sassuuolo in the summer of 2023, and is understood to be frustrated by his lack of opportunities as a starter in San Siro.

The most recent disappointment arrived when Frattesi was left on the bench for the whole of the Champions League final, despite providing decisive goals against both Bayern Munich and Barcelona in the quarters and semi-finals, which led to a rumoured confrontation between the player and head coach.
Reports on Sunday claimed that Frattesi is now open to leaving Inter.
According to reports from Calciomercato.com, Roma have reignited their interest in signing Frattesi in the summer transfer window, adding to reported interest from 2024-25 Scudetto winners, Napoli.
The Giallorossi had also expressed an interest in re-signing their former youth player during the January transfer window, but were ultimately unable to match Inter’s €40m price tag.
Monday’s reports claim, however, that Inter could be talked into letting Frattesi leave for a slightly reduced fee in the summer transfer window.

There is also a possibility that Roma look to negotiate a further ‘discount’ by including Nicola Zalewski in negotiations with Inter, given that he is on loan with an option to buy for €6.5m.
Still, Roma are not the only club interested, as Napoli are also understood to be keen on a deal, as are a number of unspecified Premier League clubs according to Calciomercato.
