Roma has opened discussions with Aston Villa regarding a potential transfer for winger Leon Bailey, according to reports by The Athletic.

David Ornstein states that while no formal bid has been submitted yet, Roma's interest is described as strong, with the Italian club emerging as the leading contender for the 28-year-old Jamaican international.

Bailey, who joined Villa from Bayer Leverkusen in 2021, has drawn attention from several other clubs as well. Teams from the Saudi Pro League and Turkey — including Istanbul-based side Beşiktaş — are also reportedly monitoring the situation.

Despite his early promise in Germany, Bailey's time at Villa Park has been inconsistent, leading to speculation over his future with the Premier League side.

Elsewhere, Villa have been linked with a move to bring Marco Asensio back to the club.
