Roma have sealed the deal for Leon Bailey, while Jadon Sancho requires some more convincing. He’s taking his time since he has other offers on the table. The Giallorossi will bring in the Aston Villa star on loan with an initial €2/3M fee and a €22M option to buy, Fabrizio Romano and Mattia Moretto report (via SOSFanta).
Gian Piero Gasperini wants more pacey attackers, and so the capital club will continue to add. The Englishman continued to have some reservations on Monday. Manchester United would accept their €20M bid, but they need to come to terms with the player first. Besiktas are after him, but he’ll consider going to Turkey only after the end of the transfer market in the rest of Europe.
Baily heads to Roma after a productive four-year run at Aston Villa. He asked out because he was no longer a key cog in the final months of last season. He previously spent time at Genk and Bayer Leverkusen.
As for Sancho, the Giallorossi are getting tired of waiting, but they haven’t completely moved on just yet, nor has the player turned them down definitively, Alfredo Pedullà informs. No team has offered as much to Manchester United.
Olympique Marseille’s Jonathan Rowe could be a fallback, but Gasperini is determined to obtain the best possible reinforcements. Bologna have already made their proposal for him, Gianluca Di Marzio relays.
A double swoop would be better, especially given the potential and the affordable cost of the latter, but at least they got one quality player in the door without breaking the bank, adding some much-needed pace at the position.
