Roma in pole position to land Twente talent Sam Steijn | OneFootball

Roma are keeping a close eye on Twente midfielder Sam Steijn who could be the club’s big signing this summer.

Today’s edition of Corriere dello Sport confirms the recent rumors from the Netherlands: Roma are on Steijn’s tracks.

The capital club are said to be in pole position for Steijn who has collected 23 goals and 5 assists this season.

Despite heavy competition from Inter and Feyenoord, Roma appear to be in the lead in the race for the talented Dutchman.

Relations with Twente are excellent following the recent deal for Salah-Eddine and Steijn himself is rumored to be very enthusiastic about a possible transfer to the capital.

There are those who speak of the existence of a clause of 10 million euros but Twente deny it and ask for 18-20 million euros.

The salary, however, would not be a problem since Steijn currently earns 250,000 euros.
