Roberto De Zerbi revealed during his press conference today attended by Get French Football News that he spoke Marseille outcast Adrien Rabiot (30) this morning. The Italian revealed that Rabiot apologised to him, but that his decision is now set in stone. “He apologised. He thinks the decision was too drastic, too heavy-handed. But I told him I was going to talk about it at the conference today,” revealed De Zerbi at Marseille’s training ground. “If he were my son, I would have done the same thing as his coach. You can suffer, you can make a decision you don’t want to make, and that’s what happened.”“But sometimes duty comes first. I gave him some fatherly advice. But now he’ll see what he wants to do,” added the Italian coach. Earlier in the conference, the Italian had lambasted Rabiot’s entourage for their response to the Frenchman’s suspension on Monday. “These are the facts: on Monday, when the decision was communicated to the players, it was temporary. Then things escalated, not because of OM but because of those around the player,” said De Zerbi, referring to Veronique Rabiot. OM have to get back to Ligue 1 action tomorrow against newly-promoted Paris FC without Rowe and Rabiot, with Geoffrey Kondogbia, Facundo Medina, and Amine Harit also unavailable for the game.GFFN | George Boxall – reporting from La Commanderie, Marseille.
