Declan Rice’s stunning free-kick double against Real Madrid on Tuesday will be etched in memory for a long time.
His first, from just under 30 yards out, bent around Thibaut Courtois' wall, striking a similar curve to Roberto Carlos’ legendary free-kick against France in 1997.
Not long after, Rice struck again. Given another free-kick from a similar distance, he unleashed an even more magnificent shot, sending the ball flying into the top corner past a helpless Courtois.
With those two goals, Rice became just the fifth player in Champions League history to score two direct free kicks in a single game.
The former West Ham star now joins the ranks of footballing greats like Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar, Rivaldo, and Hakim Ziyech.
