Serie A underachievers Torino are reportedly accelerating their pursuit of Inter Milan misfit Marko Arnautovic.
According to Tuttosport via FCInterNews, Urbano Cairo’s side has offered the Austrian captain a year-and-a-half contract worth €2.7 million.
One way or another, Arnautovic will depart Giuseppe Meazza in the coming months.
The veteran striker’s deal at Inter runs out at the end of the season.
However, he could leave sooner, with Torino identifying him as a perfect short-term solution for their scoring problems.
Indeed, with Duvan Zapata out with an injury, Paolo Vanoli needs a new goal-getter to lead the line.
Arnautovic would likely have to take a pay cut to join Torino.
Moreover, Inter would need to pay the former Bologna man around €1.7m for the remaining six months of his contract.
From there, Torino would continue to take care of his salary.
Despite his professionalism, Arnautovic remains on the fringes of the Inter squad.
Simone Inzaghi prefers Marcus Thuram and Lautaro Martinez, while Mehdi Taremi is also ahead in the pecking order.
Therefore, it may not take much persuasion to convince Arnautovic to move to Turin this winter.
After all, Torino can offer him regular first-team action, something he’s desperately lacking at Inter.
