Fringe Inter Milan star Marko Arnautovic could reportedly leave Giuseppe Meazza next month to join fellow Serie A rivals Torino.
According to Tuttosport via FCInterNews, Torino president Urbano Cairo is desperate to add to Torino’s attacking options.
Marko Arnautovic has emerged as the most plausible solution.
Indeed, Torino’s prime target was Napoli’s Giovanni Simeone.
However, the Argentine’s significant €15 million price tag has blown the Granata out of the water.
Everton misfit Beto was another alternative, only for Roma to leapfrog Paolo Vanoli’s team in the race for the ex-Udinese ace.
Therefore, Torino see Arnautovic as a contingency plan to address their goalscoring crisis.
Duvan Zapata’s long-term injury has left Torino strapped for reliable options in the final third.
Antonio Sanabria has failed to live up to the billing, forcing the Turin side to scour the market for reinforcements.
While Inter wouldn’t stand in Arnautovic’s way, there’s a roadblock.
Indeed, the Austrian veteran would likely have to take a significant wage cut to facilitate his transfer to Torino.
Arnautovic’s salary at Meazza is around €3.5m net per season.
But he’d probably need to reduce his wages to €2m a year to complete the transfer.
