Inter Milan are reportedly not keen to sign Genoa midfielder Morten Frendrup, as he is “too similar to Nicolo Barella.”
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, via FCInterNews.
Inter Milan are starting to draw up their list of transfer targets in midfield.
The Nerazzurri are all but certain to make at least one more signing in central areas this summer. Hakan Calhanoglu is heavily linked with a move away, whilst Kristjan Asllani and Davide Frattesi could be in for exits.
Therefore, Inter will be seeking replacements for any players who leave.

One name that has reportedly emerged on Inter’s list of targets is that of Genoa midfielder Morten Frendrup.
However, the Corriere della Sera report that Inter are unlikely to make a move for the Dane.
That would be because of Frendrup’s style of play.
Whilst Inter rate Frendrup highly, they want to target midfielder who can fill gaps in their squad. And the 24-year-old doesn’t really have the right profile to.
Frendrup is not really a natural holding midfielder. Therefore, he would not quite be the right profile to replace Hakan Calhanoglu.
However, at the same time, the Danish international isn’t a major attacking presence.
Rather, Frendrup is a true box-to-box “all action” midfielder. In that respect, his style most resembles that of Nicolo Barella.
And Inter don’t feel that they need another player with Barella’s qualities in the squad.
