Napoli midfielder Frank Zambo Anguissa has an offer from Chelsea and is allowed to evaluate this option independently due to a clause in his contract according to reports.

Chelsea are once again set for a busy summer and could look to fund their business by selling as many as seven or eight players.

The Blues face a critical window with the club looking to sign a striker, centre back and right footed attacker to bolster Enzo Maresca’s squad.

A striker is the main priority, but one area which doesn’t need addressing is midfield with the Blues having an array of options including Enzo Fernandez, Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia.

However, Italian outlet Gazetta dello Sport have reported Napoli’s Zambo Anguissa has an important offer from the Blues.

The 29-year-old scored six goals and registered five assists in 35 league appearances as Napoli won the Serie A title under former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte.

Zambo Anguissa has been previously linked with Chelsea, but the Cameroon international doesn’t really fit the club’s recruitment model.

The midfielder is under contract until 2027 and this summer would be the last chance for Napoli to maximise the transfer fee if the former Fulham man opts against signing a new deal.

Santos and Essugo to bolster the midfield

Midfield is arguably the strongest area of Chelsea’s squad, and the Blues have further reinforcements arriving in the form of Andrey Santos and Dario Essugo.

Todd Boehly has spoken of his excitement about seeing Santos in action after thriving on loan at Strasbourg, and Essugo will join this summer after the Blues agreed a deal for the 20-year-old in March.

Both players could make their debut at the Club World Cup next month and Essugo is expected to provide much needed cover for Caicedo who started all 38 league games this campaign.
