Chelsea have reportedly now made an offer to sign a 20-year-old attacker this window, and it’s not Xavi Simons.
I mean, Simons is also 22-years-old and not 20. But he has been all the talk this week for Chelsea and the new attacker they have been looking to bring in.
So why would they be making an offer for another attacker? Maybe they want two more in? Maybe this new report does not even hold weight? Or maybe there is something going wrong with the Simons to Chelsea deal? Any of the above could be possible at this point I guess.
The last we heard on Simons to Chelsea was that personal terms have already been agreed between the club and the player, and it was just the fee that now needs to be agreed. Chelsea have the player buy in.
ESPN were also reporting yesterday afternoon that Chelsea were stepping up their pursuit of Simons, which usually means something big is happening. For what it’s worth, I think it gets done still.
Simons is more of an attacking midfielder than a winger, so maybe Chelsea want to bring another new winger in as well as him?
It’s feasible I suppose. And maybe that winger is Kenan Yildiz from Juventus… He’s been linked with Chelsea a few times lately, and now apparently The Blues have sent an offer in to sign him.

It might be a story that we all need to take with a pinch of sale for now at least anyway, unless we hear about a more reliable source reporting it.
But according to Gazzetta dello Sport in Italy, Chelsea have submitted €65M offer to sign Kenan Yıldız. But Juventus have no intention to accept it. And we have no idea if there is any truth to this anyway.
