Rennes have reached an agreement with Angers to sign in-form striker Estéban Lepaul (25), according to a report from L’Equipe. Les Rouge et Noir have reportedly agreed to a €15m transfer package with their Ligue 1 rivals. Lepaul is expected to put pen to paper over a four-year deal with Habib Beye’s side. The versatile 25-year-old striker has already agreed personal terms with Rennes. Lepaul’s stock skyrocketed last season after netting 13 goals in all competitions for his first full season with Angers.

Lepaul picked up where he left off in scoring Angers’ game-winning goal against Paris FC on Ligue 1’s opening day. Rennes were in the market for a centre-forward after parting ways with Arnaud Kalimuendo. The former France youth international has joined Nottingham Forest in a €35m fee. Should Lepaul’s deal go through in the coming days, the former Epinal striker could make his Rennes debut on Sunday against… Angers.
