Rennes interested in Marseille’s Quentin Merlin | OneFootball

Stade Rennais may be in the market for a left-back. The Breton club have already sold Adrien Truffert to Premier League side Bournemouth. Their back-up, Mahamadou Nagida, is inexperienced. At just 20, he may be judged to be too inexperienced to inherit Truffert’s role. A recruit could therefore be sought after during the current transfer window.

L’Équipe understands that they are showing an interest in Olympique de Marseille left-back Quentin Merlin (23), who just had a convincing campaign away with the France U21 side at the Euros. His future at OM is uncertain.

Whilst behind the scenes, there are those who want Merlin to remain at the club, OM are looking to raise money to fund their transfer window. He is a player that Marseille can turn a profit on.

There is also interest from abroad, L’Équipe understands. Borussia Mönchengladbach are one of several Bundesliga sides interested in the Frenchman.
