Rennes’ Baptiste Santamaria set for Valencia switch | OneFootball

Le Parisien understands that Stade Rennais midfielder Baptiste Santamaria (30) is set to join Spanish side Valencia.

Santamaria, out of the picture at Rennes, spent the second half of last season on loan at OGC Nice. Overall, it was a successful loan spell for the Frenchman, however, at the end of the campaign, Le Gym opted against making his loan move permanent.

As a result, Santamaria returned to parent club Rennes. However, he does not feature in Habib Beye’s plans and so the Breton club have been looking to offload the midfielder. He now looks to have found a new club. A deal is on the verge of being struck with Valencia. There are some minor details to iron out, however, there is great optimism of an agreement being reached imminently.

The Frenchman will then sign a two-year deal with the Spanish side. Le Parisien understands that, earlier in the window, he turned down an approach from Napoli, however, this time, he does look set to depart.
