Milan rejected the opening €60m proposal from Manchester City for Tijjani Reijnders, but negotiations are reportedly progressing rapidly and should be closed at €70m.
It is absolutely no secret that Pep Guardiola wants the Netherlands international in his squad in good time for the Club World Cup, which kicks off in the USA in mid-June.
With that in mind, Manchester City are in a hurry to get the deal done with Milan and will waste no time.
According to multiple sources, the first offer was worth €60m including bonuses and was rejected.

However, Calciomercato.com, DAZN and others are confident a new bid is imminent at €70m including add-ons and that should be sufficient.
That increase would be within hours rather than days, as there really is a rush to get it completed.
A few more details are required to work out the payment structure and for Reijnders to agree personal terms, but it does feel like only a matter of time at this point.

It is also noted that when Milan signed Reijnders from AZ Alkmaar in 2023 for €20m plus €5m in performance-related bonuses, that included a 10 per cent cut of the profit from any future sale.
That means not all of this money will go straight into the Rossoneri coffers.
