Tijjani Reijnders begs Milan fans to ‘give us energy’ rather than protest after the comeback win over Como, while Tammy Abraham assures he is ‘a team player.’

The Rossoneri were loudly jeered off the pitch at half-time at San Siro when 1-0 down this evening, having conceded the Lucas Da Cunha goal and seen Milan ultras leave the Curva Sud empty for the opening 15 minutes.

However, Christian Pulisic and then Reijnders on the inspired Abraham assist turned it around for a 2-1 victory.

“I always try my best to be important with goals and assists, we have to get better. We did a good job today and can now go again after the break for international duty,” Reijnders told DAZN.

Considering last week they came back from 2-0 down to beat Lecce 3-2, why do Milan always need a wake-up call before kicking into gear?

“This is something we are suffering this season. I don’t think it’s sharpness, but we are making personal mistakes and these things can’t happen when you are playing for Milan,” continued Reijnders.

“It is also hard when the fans come in later, but we need their support, you can see when they come on, it brings us a lot of energy in the stadium and that gives us energy too.

“I said multiple times this season, we have to improve, and right now is the best moment to do it.”

Abraham came off the bench for a sluggish Santiago Gimenez and made a big contribution with his assist for Reijnders, which he celebrated almost as if he had scored it himself.

“The important thing is that we are happy, we needed this win going into the break, it can give us some confidence,” Abraham told DAZN.

“This is what I do! Every time I come on the pitch, I want to help the team as much as possible, with goals, assists, defending, I’m a team player. He’s one of my best friends in the team, so I’m happy.”
