Real Sociedad star Álex Remiro has confirmed that La Liga rivals Barcelona are one of a number of clubs keeping an eye on his progress at present.

This, of course, comes amid an ongoing search for reinforcements between the posts on the part of the Blaugrana.

Recent weeks have seen a number of goalkeepers linked with a summer move to Barcelona, as Deco and co. seek fresh blood amid uncertainty over the futures of all of Marc-André ter Stegen, Wojciech Szczęsny and Iñaki Peña.

The shot-stopper most heavily linked has been Espanyol no.1 Joan García, a man in-demand across the continent owing to a spectacular season in 2024/25.

As alluded to above, though, if the latest word stemming from Spain over the las 24 hours is anything to go by, then Joan is not the only La Liga-based no.1 in the sights of the Camp Nou brass.

Speaking during an interview with Diario Vasco, as cited by Diario Sport, over the weekend, Real Sociedad standout Álex Remiro confirmed that he too has long been tracked by Barcelona:

“I know that Barça and Aston Villa have been following me, but they are not the only ones who have been following me or watching me. It’s not very difficult either because Real have played five years in a row in Europe and we played at a high level in the Champions League.”

Remiro is understood to be a backup option for Barca, if a deal for priority target Joan can’t be found.
