Real Madrid added another trophy to their cabinet as they ran out winners of the first FIFA Intercontinental Cup.

Mexican side Pachuca held firm for over 30 minutes, but when Vinícius Júnior sold the goalkeeper Carlos Moreno a dummy with a neat step over, it left Kylian Mbappé just to supply the finish.

When Oussama Idrissi tripped Lucas Vázquez inside the box, a VAR check saw a penalty awarded, which Vinicius stepped up and converted.

Pachuca thought they had pulled a goal back as the match drew towards the 90 minute mark, but it was ruled out for offside.
