Spanish champions Real Madrid face a resurgent Valencia team in La Liga this afternoon.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side can move level on points with Barcelona with a win, ahead of the latter’s fixture with Real Betis later in the day.
Real earned progress to the Copa del Rey final in midweek in a thrilling tie against Real Sociedad. Antonio Rudiger’s extra-time header made it 4-4 on the night and sealed a 5-4 aggregate success for Los Blancos. The dream of a treble remains alive for Real Madrid.
Valencia are battling against relegation but have climbed four points clear of trouble under Carlos Corberan. Los Che have taken eight points from their last four fixtures to rise to 15th in the table.
Carlo Ancelotti is not likely to risk Thibaut Courtois, ahead of a huge Champions League quarter-final with Arsenal next week. The Belgian has a muscular issue and Andriy Lunin should deputise in goal.
Eder Militao and Dani Carvajal are long-term absentees with ACL injuries, while the clash is set to come too soon for Ferland Mendy. Dani Ceballos has resumed first-team training.
Real Madrid predicted XI: Lunin; Vazquez, Asencio, Rudiger, F Garcia; Valverde, Tchouameni; Rodrygo, Bellingham, Vinicius; Mbappe.
Real Madrid host Valencia in La Liga on Saturday 5th April 2025. Kick-off is 15:15 BST.
The Real Madrid v Valencia game will be shown live on LALIGATV and Premier Player in the UK.
