At 38 years of age, the veteran still has the aura around him that makes the game look ridiculously simple to the naked eye.

He already has a goal and three assists to his name in La Liga this season, and his role is only set to increase in the coming weeks with two new competitions arriving on the scene.

The Croatian legend spoke to the media recently after Real Madrid’s open-door training session today. As part of the interactions, he shared special details about his future, his ambitions for 2024, and his time at the club.

Speaking about his current goals at Real Madrid, Modric left a nostalgic message, almost confirming his departure from the club in the summer.

“The plan is to continue making history, continue winning titles and hopefully it will happen this season. It is also important to enjoy every moment because you never know how long this is going to last in the best club in the world.”

The veteran midfielder then emphasised the importance of Carlo Ancelotti’s renewal for the club’s future, the Italian gaffer’s role in the dressing room, and his relationship with the players.

“Ancelotti’s renewal is important, in the locker room we are happy with this news. This decision is very accurate on the part of the club. What the coach has done, is doing and what he is going to do is very important.”

“Ancelotti is very loved by everyone in the locker room. It’s great news for everyone that it continues until 2026,” he added.

Finally, the Croatian star expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Real Madrid fans across the globe and the constant support he received through the highs and the lows.

“It is always incredible to receive the affection of our fans. The affection of people and children is the best thing that can happen to you as a professional. Thank God, I have had this affection since I arrived in Madrid.”

“I have commented with some colleagues that it would be good to have some more open training a year, to be able to take pictures with them and that both they and we can enjoy,” he added on the special open-door training.
