Real Madrid to offer Luka Modrić’s no.10 jersey to one player after Club World Cup | OneFootball

The brass at La Liga giants Real Madrid have made the call to offer the club’s iconic no.10 shirt to a new player this summer.

That’s according to El Chiringuito TV, who point towards Kylian Mbappé as the player in question.

The 10 jersey in incoming boss Xabi Alonso’s squad is of course set to become vacant over the coming weeks. This comes with current owner Luka Modrić primed to bid farewell to Real Madrid upon the conclusion of the FIFA Club World Cup.

Negotiations, in turn, had long been kicked into gear behind the scenes in Spain’s capital, over the choice of Modrić’s successor.

And as alluded to above, if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, a call has now been made.

As per El Chiringuito TV’s Edu Aguirre, Kylian Mbappé – fresh off an explosive debut campaign in La Liga – will be offered the chance to change to no.10 for next season.
