Frustration with refereeing decisions is reaching new heights at Real Madrid, both within the club and the dressing room, to the point where many believe there is a deliberate agenda against them, reports Mundo Deportivo.
“It is not normal,” is the phrase echoed from club officials after the latest game against Osasuna, which ended in a 1-1 draw, while players have been even more outspoken in their criticism of the referees as well.
Real Madrid left Pamplona furious after their 1-1 draw against Osasuna, with high-ranking club officials suspecting that recent officiating controversies are no coincidence.
Following the club’s formal complaint against the refereeing system after their match against Espanyol, they find it suspicious that two consecutive VAR-awarded penalties have gone against them.
The Merengues also believe that other contentious incidents – such as the three potential penalties claims against Osasuna – were ignored – something that sparked an angry outburst from manager Carlo Ancelotti on the touchline.

The reigning La Liga champions view it as highly questionable that before their letter of complaint to the RFEF and the Higher Sports Council (CSD), they had not conceded a single penalty all season.
Now, in quick succession, they have had two VAR decisions go against them, just days before their scheduled meeting with the Technical Committee of Referees (CTA).
While officials at Valdebebas have their concerns, the anger in the dressing room is even more intense.
Neither the players nor the coaching staff could understand Munuera Montero’s decisions on Saturday – not only Jude Bellingham’s controversial red card but also the penalties they felt were wrongly ignored.
There is growing frustration over VAR’s apparent failure to intervene in key moments, and the prevailing feeling within the squad is one of helplessness. Many fear that if these patterns continue, winning La Liga could become an uphill battle.
