Rodrygo Goes’ future at Real Madrid continues to be a topic of speculation despite the player having a long-term contract until 2028.
Premier League heavyweights Manchester City had shown an interest in signing the 24-year-old Brazilian forward last summer. And it appears that Pep Guardiola’s team remain keen on acquiring the attacker’s services.
Indeed, according to Eduardo Inda on El Chiringuito TV, Rodrygo’s father has met with representatives from Manchester City.
As per the report, despite denials from both camps, a meeting has indeed taken place between the Brazilian’s father and the Premier League champions.
Manchester City want to sign Rodrygo and are offering him a chance to play under Guardiola, as well as a role in his preferred position on the left flank, along with more money.

Real Madrid cannot offer the 24-year-old a spot on the left wing where they have Vinicius Jr. as a permanent fixture while Kylian Mbappe also prefers to play on that side when not operating as a No. 9.
Despite being considered one of the most talented and gifted forwards in the world, Rodrygo has often lived in the shadow of Vinicius and now Mbappe at Real Madrid.
Carlo Ancelotti continues to trust Rodrygo and frequently includes him in the starting lineup. However, the player has always preferred to operate on the left wing, a position usually occupied by Vinicius. As such, the former Santos wonderkid remains open to listening to offers.
For him to stay at the Santiago Bernabeu, Rodrygo has made two key requests – first, a salary increase, as he is not among the club’s highest earners and second, more chances to play on the left wing.
Real Madrid, though, are not expected to engage in contract negotiations or discussions about his future mid-season.
As a result, Rodrygo’s father has begun exploring other options in case talks with the Spanish capital club do not go as planned.
