A statistic, highlighting the extent of the brilliance of one of Real Madrid’s star performers across the season to date, has come to the fore online.

The player in question? Toni Kroos.

The name of midfielder Kroos has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines in Madrid over the course of the last 24 hours.

As much comes after confirmation was forthcoming in the media that the 34-year-old has agreed to extend his terms with Carlo Ancelotti’s troops for another season.

Ahead of the expiration of his current contract in the summer, the powers that be at the Santiago Bernabéu had long been pushing Kroos to commit his future to the club, desperate to keep hold of an absolutely integral member of their engine room ranks for another year.

And upon taking a closer look at his passing stats from the season to date, it is not hard to see why.

As revealed by statisticians Opta, Kroos is the current La Liga leader when it comes to both total passes, and passes per 90 minutes, across all competitions.

Not only that, but, on his way to as much, the German international has also maintained a frankly remarkable 94.7% pass accuracy average.
