Real Madrid star Rodrygo has revealed that teammate Vinícius Jr. recently issued an apology to Carlo Ancelotti’s squad.
Wide-man Vinícius is for his part of course fresh off another starring performance on the continent on Wednesday night.
Afforded a starting berth in Real Madrid’s Champions League showdown with RB Salzburg, the Brazilian notched a brace, en route to an eventual 5-1 result.
Vinícius was well rested heading into the matchup, having been unable to play his part in Los Blancos’ latest domestic outing, against Las Palmas last weekend.
This came owing to a two-game La Liga suspension, brought about by a needless red card during a meeting with Valencia earlier in the month.
And, as alluded to above, the significance of as much was not at all lost on the part of the 24-year-old himself.
Speaking to the media in the aftermath of last night’s downing of Salzburg, fellow Real attacker Rodrygo revealed that Vinícius issued a heartfelt apology to he and his teammates for his actions at Mestalla:
“Vinícius apologised to us for his red card. We are a family and supported him.”
