Real Madrid are bound to be on cloud nine after recently securing the La Liga trophy and celebrating their victory in style at the Plaza de Cibeles.

Though the club is enjoying itself, there are urgent concerns to attend to in terms of preparation for the new season, especially in relation to the contracts of important players like Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, and Nacho Fernandez, whose contracts expire this summer.

These players, integral to Madrid’s success, were passionately urged by both fans and teammates to extend their stay during the LaLiga celebrations.

A resolution will be reached soon

Now, according to Mundo Deportivo Florentino Perez will hold talks with the three veterans before the Champions League final in order to promptly resolve the matter and keep the team’s attention on the grand showdown with Borussia Dortmund.

The players have not responded to questions regarding whether the club has extended renewal offers, which has created uncertainty over the future.

Once thought to be on the verge of leaving, Modric is reportedly close to changing his mind, and Kroos, who is crucial to Ancelotti’s plans, is still unsure despite his significance to the club.

Nacho is in a similar situation, although having hit a rich vein of form recently, his solid performances are likely to convince the team to hand him an extension.

Ancelotti in favour of veteran duo’s continuity

While Modric and Kroos have remained tight-lipped over their future, coach Carlo Ancelotti aspires to have the duo within the roster next season.

“Toni Kroos and Luka Modric have to continue”, Ancelotti claimed during the celebrations recently.

While the club’s hierarchy will continue to work behind the scenes, the team is sure to maintain its focus on the upcoming Champions League final, as securing victory in Wembley remains the immediate priority.
