La Liga champions Real Madrid are all set to add to the club’s defensive ranks at youth level.
That’s according to transfer insider Javier Rodríguez Pascual, who points towards Joel Pleguezuelos as the player all set to take his talents to the Spanish capital.
Pleguezuelos, for his part, is an 18-year-old central defender, who is currently plying his trade on the books of Espanyol.
The starlet has turned heads with his impressive performances across the season to date, whilst lining out for Espanyol’s U19s in Liga Nacional.
So much so that, as alluded to above, one of Spanish football’s leading clubs have now moved to secure his signature.
As per a report from Relevo’s Javier Rodríguez Pascual:
‘Real Madrid are on the verge of signing Joel Pleguezuelos.’
The move is likened to that of Real’s recent deal for Lamini Fati, who linked up with Los Blancos from Leganés earlier this month, with a view to a future first-team berth.
