This past summer transfer window, Real Madrid signed Kylian Mbappé as a free agent. So far, this signing hasn’t worked out, with the Frenchman struggling to find his footing.
Real Madrid have the 25-year-old playing on as a No. 9, which isn’t his preferred position. Any PSG supporter will tell you that the forward prefers playing as a left-winger, but with the Spanish side, that position is occupied by Vinicius Jr.
As a result, if Mbappé wants to find success with Real Madrid, he has to reinvent himself or hope that the Brazilian decides to leave to open up that position where he’s had the most success.
Well, it appears his former club might be willing to help him
PSG, under Qatari ownership, have always sought a superstar as part of its project. While the new strategy focuses on young talent, the Parisians could push to have at least one superstar player leading this new project.
Journalist Jorge C. Picon reports that PSG are keen on making a strong statement against Florentino Pérez and Real Madrid by potentially signing Vinicius if the right opportunity comes along.
While there hasn’t been any serious interest yet and contact has been limited recently, PSG are currently keeping an eye on his situation.
The Parisians are probably hoping for a fallout similar to what transpired between Mbappé and Neymar Jr., which would allow for PSG to swoop in should the Brazilian ever want out of the Spanish capital.
