Trent Alexander-Arnold has become a hot topic at Real Madrid lately, following reports of his potential move to the Santiago Bernabeu next summer.

The Liverpool superstar, whose contract expires at the end of the season, is reportedly ‘one step away’ from joining Real Madrid.

The right-back is expected to join Los Blancos on a free transfer, in what could prove to be a massive coup for the Spanish champions.

Alexander-Arnold to sign a contract until 2030

A recent report from MARCA has offered an update on Alexander-Arnold’s transfer saga, reiterating the fact that the player is indeed set to join Real Madrid next season, with a move imminent.

The report adds that Madrid are hoping to reach a five-year agreement with the English international, which will keep him at the club until 2030.

At least that is what Real Madrid are proposing as of now. It must be noted that the club had attempted to sign the Englishman two more times in the past as well.

Should Alexander-Arnold agree to Real Madrid’s terms, he would become the club’s first major signing for next season.

Given his status as a free agent, he would become quite the bargain as well, and he is unlikely to command a salary on the same level as that of Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr.

In any case, the addition of Alexander-Arnold could go a long way in reinforcing the right-back position at Real Madrid.

The Liverpool star could become an ideal long-term replacement for Dani Carvajal and a definite upgrade over Lucas Vazquez, who could be playing his last season at the club.
