Paris Saint-Germain have been keeping a close eye on Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich for months, with a transfer nearly materializing last summer.
At the same time, Barcelona are reportedly targeting Bayer Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah along with Kimmich as they look to strengthen both their midfield and defense ahead of the 2025 season.
Journalists Christian Falk and Tobi Altschäffl reported that Bayern Munich have now given up on convincing Kimmich to take a pay cut from his current €20 million annual salary.
With his contract set to expire next year and increasing interest from top clubs, it seems less likely that Kimmich will agree to reduced terms.

Diario AS’ Sergio Lopez doesn’t see Real Madrid being a serious contender to secure the German international should he reach free agency later this summer.
“It seems unlikely, but not impossible,” Lopez wrote. “The problem is his age: the club does not usually sign players over 30. But if he is free, there could be exceptions.”
Recently, Bild reported that PSG, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester City, and Liverpool are in the race for the veteran midfielder. Despite the number of suitors, one expert believes that Los Blancos will secure Kimmich once his contract with Bayern Munich expires in June.
