A headline member of the academy setup at La Liga giants Real Madrid is set for an imminent departure.

That’s according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who points towards Nico Paz as the player in question.

The name of youngster Paz has of course taken its place front and centre in the media chatter surrounding Real Madrid across the week to date.

This comes after word was forthcoming that the 19-year-old – who managed seven senior appearances in Spain’s capital last season – had made his way onto the wishlist of Serie A newcomers Como.

Negotiations between the parties, in turn, were swiftly kicked into gear, amid the understanding that Paz would have found regular game-time difficult to come by in Carlo Ancelotti’s star-studded squad this season.

The Argentine youth international was therefore quick to green light the transfer, eager to play first-team football under the watch of a midfield icon, in Cesc Fàbregas.

And, as alluded to above, on Wednesday evening, the talks between Como and Real Madrid have officially borne fruit.

As per a report from Fabrizio Romano:

‘Nico Páz from Real Madrid to Como, here we go! Deal in place for the Argentinian talent. Understand Como will pay €6m fee for permanent transfer PLUS 50% sell-on clause to Real Madrid for future sale.’

On top of this, the Spanish champions have included a buyback clause in the agreement.
