Real Madrid legend Kroos responds to Barcelona’s decision to part with İlkay Gündoğan | OneFootball

A former member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has on Tuesday provided his response to fellow countryman İlkay Gündoğan’s impending Barcelona exit.

The name of midfielder Gündoğan has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines across all of Spain over the course of the last couple of days.

This comes after confirmation was forthcoming that the Barcelona brass have come to the shock decision to allow the 33-year-old to move on.

In an effort to reduce their bloated wage bill, Deco and co. have informed Gündoğan that his services are no longer required.

The German, in turn, has opened negotiations with ex-club Manchester City, over a potential reunion.

News of Barcelona’s call has since been met with widespread disillusionment, with fans, the media and pundits alike having taken firm aim at the Blaugrana for their treatment of a player who stood as arguably the club’s best last season.

And, as alluded to above, on Tuesday evening, such questions have been added to by one of Gündoğan’s long-term international teammates.

Taking to the comments section of transfer insider Fabrizio Romano’s confirmation that Barca will allow their midfield standout to leave for free, Real Madrid icon Toni Kroos replied:
