Real Madrid legend Kroos hails Barcelona star: ‘Never seen anything like it’ | OneFootball

Former Real Madrid star Toni Kroos has this week moved to reveal his appreciation for the talents of Barcelona youngster Lamine Yamal.

Wide-man Lamine is for his part of course fresh off a season which saw him continue to build on his reputation as world football’s standout up-and-coming talent.

Despite remaining just 17 years of age, the Spanish international lit up the domestic and European scenes alike.

From his berth on the right flank, Lamine terrorised opposing backlines, courtesy of elite touch, dribbling, guile and final ball.

All told, across 55 appearances in all competitions, the starlet racked up 43 direct goal contributions.

And such exploits, it is safe to say, did not go at all unappreciated on the part of the aforementioned Toni Kroos.

Speaking during an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, as cited by DAZN, this week, Real Madrid icon Kroos was asked for his take on Lamine’s talents.

And the 35-year-old did not hold back in his response, explaining:

“I also joined the first team at 17, but I wasn’t at Lamine Yamal’s level. What he’s doing is insane. I’ve never seen anything like it at this age. I’m talking about consistency in performance because the natural talent is obvious. He is special because, in difficult moments, he always steps up. And that, at 17, is not normal.”
