Following the disappointment of their Copa del Rey final defeat last weekend, Real Madrid have been working hard in training since Tuesday to prepare for the upcoming La Liga encounter against Celta Vigo.

With the Merengues trailing leaders Barcelona by four points, there is no room for error with only five matches left to be played.

However, the atmosphere around the club has been tense of late with a spate of injuries rocking the squad as well as the future of manager Carlo Ancelotti becoming an unwanted distraction.

Mbappe, Vinicius ready for Celta clash

However, there is some good news on the horizon for Real Madrid as key duo Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr. are fully fit and ready for Sunday’s league game against Celta Vigo, reports Mundo Deportivo.

The two attackers had reduced their training workload earlier in the week, having been dealing with some physical problems.

Vinicius had to be taken off with a blow in the cup final loss against Barcelona while Mbappe was far from 100% fit, having only returned for that game after an injury in the UEFA Champions League vs Arsenal.

As such, the pair had not participated in group training earlier this week and were instead working indoors in the gym.

However, the Real Madrid’s superstar attacking duo returned to the pitch on Thursday and completed the session alongside their teammates. As such, both players are available for selection by Ancelotti for the weekend fixture vs Celta.

Several youngsters in training

Real Madrid lost the likes of Antonio Rudiger, Ferland Mendy, and David Alaba to injuries in recent days, with the trio joining the already sidelined Eduardo Camavinga, Eder Militao, and Dani Carvajal.

Given the number of absences, especially in the defensive unit, Ancelotti opted to call up several prospects from the Castilla and the youth team ranks today for training.

Centre-backs Jacobo Ramon and Mario Rivas, right-back Lorenzo Aguado, and left-back Youssef Enriquez ‘Yusi’ trained with the first team, as did midfielder Chema.

As reported earlier today, Aguado, in particular, may have a role to play with the senior team in the final few games, considering his ability to play anywhere across the backline.
