La Liga giants Real Madrid have invited a once-iconic member of the goalkeeping setup at Bayern Munich to their upcoming meeting with the German heavyweights.

Two of European football’s most historic clubs are of course primed to lock horns on the continent once more on Wednesday night.

As much comes as Real Madrid prepare to play host to Bayern Munich, in the 2nd leg of the Champions League semi-final tie between the clubs.

The matchup currently sits on a knife-edge, following a 2-2 stalemate at the Allianz Arena last Tuesday.

Tomorrow’s showdown in the Spanish capital, in turn, is expected to be a star-studded affair, with high-profile names across the sporting world and beyond in attendance.

And one such individual who has this week been on the receiving end of a personal invitation to the Santiago Bernabéu comes in the form of Oliver Kahn.

That’s according to German outlet Sport1, who have confirmed that the Real Madrid brass reached out to former shot-stopper Kahn, to ask him to take his place in the stands for Wednesday’s clash.

As much comes with Bayern having failed to do so, amid the frosty relationship between the parties since Kahn’s dismissal from his position as CEO last summer.
