Real Madrid may have not celebrated their recent La Liga triumph on the streets but that did not stop Madridista from taking the streets and taking a sweet jibe at Barcelona, Joan Laporta and Xavi.

After the Los Blancos were crowned champions, Real Madrid fans were heard chanting “Laporta stay, Xavi stay!” in the city of Madrid. As if that was not enough, even Girona fans chanted; “Xavi Stay”.

An unusual title celebration for Real Madrid

We reported yesterday that Real Madrid decided to stay calm about the outcome of the Cadiz match.

The team from the Spanish capital decided to postpone any title celebration to next weekend because the second leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final looms over Wednesday.

The celebration at Cibeles was unlike any other: there were no players present, traffic continued as usual, and the fountain was occasionally lit in a surprising blue.

This atypical celebration may have seemed unusual, but sometimes the most memorable events are those that break from tradition.

There will be a parade next weekend

Real Madrid’s 36th league title will be remembered as a singular experience, with around 10,000 fans creating an atmosphere that set the stage for the official festivities next Sunday, complete with a parade, a stage, and the trophy itself.

Meanwhile, Saturday’s informal celebration will be remembered for its unconventional nature, showcasing the dedication of the fans even without the players’ presence.

Ancelotti had promised the team would not make the trip, and none of the players were seen in their personal cars.

Despite the lack of player involvement, the spirit of the event remained strong, as fans cheered on with chants of “Champions!” and “How could I not love you?”

They even took the opportunity to send messages to their longstanding rivals, including repeated calls of “Stay, Xavi!”
