Real Madrid explore 2025 move for €70 million-rated Liverpool midfielder | OneFootball

Saturday morning brought with it the good news of Real Madrid being poised to renew the contracts of iconic midfielders Toni Kroos and Luka Modric for one more season.

It is being claimed that Modric already has reached an agreement in principle with Los Blancos over a new deal while Kroos is also understood to be close to renewing.

It is great news for Madridistas as both Kroos and Modric have shown that they are still very much capable of being crucial to the team’s success.

But plans are already underway to replace the pair before the 2025/26 season, if reports are to be believed.

Florian Wirtz has already been identified as a potential replacement for Kroos and now a World Cup winner has emerged as a possible target as well.

Alexis Mac Allister on Real Madrid’s agenda

Indeed, as per ESPN Argentina, as relayed by Mundo Deportivo, Real Madrid have identified Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister as an option to strengthen the midfield in 2025.

The World Cup winner with Argentina signed for Liverpool last summer and has become an integral member of the team at Anfield in under a year.

The 25-year-old ace has played 45 times in all competitions for the Reds this season, contributing with six goals and seven assists as well.

Given his age, pedigree, and quality, Real Madrid see him as an option to replace one of Kroos or Modric next year when the veteran duo depart.

In fact, the report adds that the newly-crowned La Liga champions have sounded out the possible signing by asking about Mac Allister’s situation at Liverpool.

The midfielder has a contract that runs until 2028 and is valued at €70 million, as per the report. Whether Real Madrid do act on their interest in the Liverpool ace next year remains to be seen.
