Real Madrid have revealed that Vinícus Júnior has been diagnosed with a neck issue following their win over Villarreal.
The news comes as a double blow after it was also confirmed that Dani Carvajal’s medical tests revealed a the extent of his injury described by the club as a “rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament, a rupture of the external collateral ligament and a rupture of the popliteal tendon in his right leg.”
After the match on Saturday, boss Carlo Ancelotti had revealed that Vinícus had been “in a lot of pain” with his neck and that it was “completely frozen”.
The club have not given a time frame for Vini Jr’s recovery, however it does put into doubt whether the dynamic forward will join up with the Brazil squad in the forthcoming international break.
