According to a report from Diario AS, Real Madrid and Valencia are currently discussing the future of 21-year-old winger Peter Federico Gonzalez, who spent the last season on loan at Valencia.

Now that his loan deal has expired, Valencia are exploring options to either negotiate a permanent transfer fee with Madrid or secure another loan period for the young player.

It must be noted that when Gonzalez joined Valencia in January, Real Madrid included a purchase option valued at €2 million.

However, it seems Valencia have no immediate plans to trigger this option despite Gonzalez’s significant contributions under coach Ruben Baraja towards the end of the season.

His performances impressed, but Valencia are reluctant to commit to spending €2 million on his permanent transfer.

In light of this, Valencia remain keen on retaining Gonzalez for the upcoming season and for that, they have two potential avenues to pursue: renegotiating the transfer fee with Real Madrid to lower the €2 million asking price or arranging another loan spell for Gonzalez.

Interestingly, the winger’s current contract with Real Madrid’s Castilla team runs until June 2025, and Gonzalez is not keen on returning to play in the lower Primera RFEF league.

So as he prepares for the Paris Olympics with the Dominican Republic national team, where he will face former teammates from Spain, his future at club level remains uncertain. For now, Valencia will continue to monitor his situation closely.

The discussions between Real Madrid and Valencia are ongoing, with both clubs navigating the complexities of player development and financial negotiations.

For Valencia, retaining Gonzalez could bolster their squad depth, while Real Madrid weigh their options for the young talent’s development path.

In summary, the future of Peter Gonzalez hangs in the balance as Valencia and Real Madrid explore ways to continue their working relationship, balancing financial considerations with the player’s career development aspirations.
