Real Madrid will travel to the Carlos Tartiere Stadium this weekend as they take on newly-promoted La Liga side, Real Oviedo, in the second round of fixtures.
Having kickstarted their campaign with a 1-0 win over CA Osasuna, Los Blancos will be eager to bag three more points while putting in a more convincing performance on Sunday night.
Leading up to the trip, journalist Guillermo Rai of The Athletic reports that Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso is set to call up promising midfielder Thiago Pitarch for the game.
Pitarch, 18, is one of the most highly-rated young talents at Real Madrid’s youth academy. The young midfielder was a part of the pre-season with Castilla during the summer when his performances attracted Alonso’s attention.

Since then, the teenage prodigy has regularly trained with the Real Madrid senior team, even playing in the training match vs Leganes, where he scored, followed up by an appearance in the friendly vs WSG Tirol.
Pitarch, who recently signed a long-term contract until 2030 with Real Madrid, had been called up for the season-opener against Osasuna at the Santiago Bernabeu earlier this week.
And, as per the aforementioned report, the youngster’s involvement with the first-team roster is set to continue as he will once again be included in the squad for the trip to Oviedo.
A promising midfielder with a very high ceiling, it will not come as a surprise to see Pitarch make his official first-team debut for Real Madrid in the coming weeks.
