Below, we take a look at the current takeover situation at the Select Car Leasing Stadium, with Ruben Selles' comments included.
On the pitch, Reading have done a fairly decent job this season under Ruben Selles.
Their away struggles have continued, with the Royals only winning one away game in all competitions so far this season.
However, they have been able to pick up a couple of valuable points on the road, with their away draw at Birmingham City on the opening day seen as a particularly impressive result.
The Berkshire outfit must build on their fairly decent start to the season though, because things can change very quickly and they know that better than anyone, having been relegated candidates for a chunk of last season before managing to recover and get themselves back on track.
At this point, their home record could help to see them through, but results on the road will also help their cause, and they picked up a valuable draw at Stevenage on Saturday.
However, their current situation isn't sustainable in the long term, with off-field matters continuing to provide challenges for Selles and the team.
They need more squad depth and ownership certainty, but with the takeover situation ongoing at this point, it seems as though the team will have to wait a while for the conclusion of this saga.
Below, we have summed up what the current situation is with the sale at the Select Car Leasing Stadium.
With the club announcing that they had entered into a new period of exclusivity with potential buyers on October 7th, the Royals' fanbase would have been hoping to have heard of some progress by the start of November.
But on November 2nd, after their FA Cup clash against Fleetwood Town, Selles didn't offer the most promising update on the situation.
He told Reading Chronicle journalist James Earnshaw: "The update is there is no update. They are continuing talks, but nothing has moved forward."
More than a week has passed since then, but there have been no further updates and the rumour mill hasn't offered any excitement for fans either.
It remains to be seen whether this purchase will actually happen, with numerous parties previously being involved in talks but failing to get a deal over the line, including Rob Couhig's Redwood Holdings.
Couhig made himself visible in August and September when it looked as though he was going to buy the club.
Even turning up to a couple of games in August, that raised hopes that he would be in charge sooner rather than later.
But that deal fell through in the end - and that caused a lot of heartbreak.
In contrast, fans haven't heard anything about the potential purchasers that are in the current period of exclusivity.
This could suggest that they are extremely professional and are keen not to raise the hopes of supporters without a deal formally going through.
But some fans are concerned that there's been such an unnerving lack of noise regarding the takeover situation in recent times.
