PSV who have won 3 of their last 5 games come into this game with a 3-2 victory over NAC Breda. PSV finds itself 19th in the league phase, with a chance of still not making the knockout stages without a result against the Reds.

This fixture gives the reds an opportunity to create a little bit of history by winning all 8 games in the new league phase of the Champions League.

Liverpool came into this game after having a seemingly easy 4-1 victory on the weekend against Ipswich, which was the first time in a few games that we saw the Reds really dominant. Ipswich did not pose Arne Slot’s side much of an issue, but it was good to see the Reds performing back at the levels we know they can play.

The notable absences for this game are Diogo Jota who felt discomfort after coming on in the 1-1 draw at Nottingham Forest, and Joe Gomez who has not been available since his hamstring injury against West Ham. The only other real injury concern may be Curtis Jones who was brought off at half time in our last Champions League game and wasn’t available on the weekend. But Slot confirms he may feature in this game or on the weekend. With the fixtures coming thick and fast for Liverpool Slot may use this game as a chance for rotation and a chance to see some of the players who aren’t getting many minutes for the first team. But Slot may also use it as a chance to create a real momentum going forward for the Reds.
