PSG’s João Neves suspended for UEFA Super Cup final against Tottenham | OneFootball

According to a report from Fabrice Hawkins, João Neves (20) is set to miss the UEFA Super Cup final against Tottenham due to suspension. The midfielder is suspended for the match after he received a red card in the final of the FIFA Club World Cup against Chelsea.

Neves will not only be suspended for PSG’s clash against Spurs. The 20-year-old is also set to miss Les Parisiens’ opening match of the Ligue 1 season as they begin the defence of their domestic crown against Nantes. The Portuguese international midfielder was crucial for Luis Enrique last season as he made 52 appearances in all competitions for the French capital club.

To counteract the former Benfica midfielder’s absence, contingency plans have been executed in training. Hawkins reports that PSG have executed a tailored programme during training in the build-up to the final to ensure that they do not suffer due to Neves’ suspension.
