Arnau Tenas left FC Barcelona last summer, signing with Paris Saint-Germain as a free agent. Even though Gianluigi Donnarumma has the No. 1 spot, the 23-year-old did play a handful of matches and set the record straight over his departure from the Catalan side.

Tenas made six appearances for the capital club during the 2023-24 season, recording one clean sheet. Moreover, the shot-stopper was part of the Spanish team that won a gold medal at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.

With the player experiencing success, some might ask why he left Barcelona. Well, the answer is simple, as the player pointed out in an interview with Què T’hi Jugues.

“I left Barça because the club didn’t offer me a contract renewal,” Tenas told the media outlet. “I would have signed any contract given by the club, even go on loan if they wanted.”

It will be interesting to see whether Tenas is PSG’s No. 2 or No. 3 goalkeeper, considering the Parisians reportedly spent €20 million on Matvey Safonov this past summer.

Nonetheless, if Tenas performs well with his opportunities, he’ll grab that No. 2 spot at PSG behind Donnarumma.
