Paris Saint-Germain’s Carlos Soler (28) is set to join Real Sociedad on a season-long loan, according to a report from L’Équipe.
Initially, it was thought that the Spaniard would join the La Liga side on a permanent deal. L’Équipe reported an agreement between all parties for a permanent transfer, however, ultimately, the deal will take the form of a loan with a buy option. The Spanish side were not certain to be able to release the funds to get the permanent deal done. In order to complete the move, the club had to first sell a player. The form of the move has, therefore, changed, but Real Sociedad will pay Soler’s salary. Upon the expiry of the loan deal, the former Valencia midfielder will have just one year remaining on his deal at PSG.
Soler spent the second part of last season on loan at West Ham United, however, his move to the London Stadium was not made permanent.
