Paris Saint-Germain could be in the market for a center-back this summer as Milan Škriniar isn’t in the plans of manager Luis Enrique. The veteran defender will likely be shipped permanently after his loan spell with Fenerbahçe ends.

The capital club are beginning to be linked to central defenders with one of the more recent names being Bournemouth’s Dean Huijsen. Nonetheless, PSG likely won’t put all their eggs in one basket and will keep their options open on what players to pursue.

Last summer, the Parisians were also linked to Huijsen but ended up signing Willian Pacho, who has been an excellent signing.

Could PSG lure a Real Madrid player to the French capital?

According to SPORT, PSG director Luis Campos has already reached out to Real Madrid’s Raul Asencio to gauge his interest in a move to Paris. The report states that PSG are prepared to spend up to €45 million to sign the young Spaniard.

PSG are reportedly also willing to offer Asencio a lucrative salary to convince him to join the club—a notable move considering he had no professional football experience just four or five months ago.

However, despite PSG’s interest, Asencio remains under contract with Real Madrid until 2026, with a €50 million release clause.

Real Madrid plan to open contract talks this summer to reward his progress with a pay raise and secure his future at the Santiago Bernabéu.
