Ousmane Dembélé arrived from FC Barcelona last summer transfer window, and while there’s been success this 2023-24 campaign, one pundit believes the Frenchman is gone after one season.

This season, Dembélé appeared in 41 matches across all competitions, scoring five goals and recording 14 assists. With so many young players, the 27-year-old would be an ideal veteran to serve as a role model for the young team.

Despite finding his footing midway through the season, RMC Sport’s Daniel Riolo believes the 2018 FIFA World Cup won’t be here for next season, considering how he’s conducted himself in recent days.

“I’m gearing up for Ousmane Dembélé’s departure this summer,” Riolo said (h/t Canal Supporters). “Mbappé, we’ve understood, that’s a done deal. But seeing Dembélé in videos, partying in Cannes, is absolutely abnormal. It’s already abnormal for Mbappé, but that’s been the case for months. The more he can give a bad impression and go against what’s expected, the more he will. However, Dembélé is still under contract, supposed to stay and has just arrived. He’s supposed to represent a cornerstone for next year.

“Yet, on the final day of the championship, he’s not around, which is very surprising. Why isn’t he there, not even on the bench? Since Dortmund, he’s barely played half an hour, why? Being in Cannes when he’s injured would be even worse, but I don’t think he is [injured]. Moreover, he’s filmed in these videos that everyone has seen. I’m preparing for Dembélé’s departure. Anyway, Luis Enrique isn’t really into him.”

Dembélé is under contract with PSG until 2028, so it will be interesting to see if the player wants to leave after one season. It’s hard to envision him departing, but if manager Luis Enrique doesn’t feel like the player is committed, considering how he’s looked toward the end of the campaign.

Still, during the transfer window, everything is possible.
