The future of Kylian Mbappé at Paris Saint-Germain is beginning to return to the spotlight. Nonetheless, the capital club intended to sell the 24-year-old this past summer, but no sale occurred.
Details over why PSG decided not to pull the trigger in a Mbappé transfer are slowly coming to light. After the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner chose not to trigger the option to extend his contract until 2025, it appeared a sale was looming.
French journalist Abdellah Boulma reports that PSG planned to part ways with Mbappé at the start of the summer for a hefty transfer fee of around €150 million.
However, the entire situation changed when the forward relinquished his loyalty bonuses, amounting to a staggering €100 million, to return to the club’s professional ranks.
With his current deal set to expire at the end of the 2023-24 season, speculations regarding his future, particularly a potential move to Real Madrid, have been swirling like a whirlwind.
According to a recent report, Mbappé has not decided on his future, and the idea of signing for Real Madrid remains in his mind. As a result, the Spanish club is taking a hard stance and wants a decision in three months. What will the winger decide? Who knows, but it will be a rollercoaster ride.
