The powers that be at French giants Paris Saint-Germain are ready to deal their counterparts at Barcelona a considerable blow on the transfer front.
That’s according to Diario Sport, who have provided the latest on the chatter surrounding Xavi Simons.
The name of attacker Simons has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines in Barcelona over the course of recent days.
This comes after confirmation was forthcoming in the media that the Dutch international has been earmarked as a leading target on the part of Xavi and his Blaugrana coaching staff.
Simons, for his part, is keen to link back up with his former club, too, with a year-long loan deal therefore being sought out by the two parties.
As alluded to above, however, if PSG have anything to do with it, then no such reunion will be on the cards this summer.
As per the aforementioned Sport:
‘PSG has closed the door to any loan of the footballer this summer and, mainly, to Barça.’
Instead, the board at the Parc des Princes, who have no intention of granting Simons the guaranteed starting berth which he so craves, are ready to seek out a permanent sale.
